My name is Anita Muspach and I live with my two Malamute's Arctica and Life in Nossegem, near Brussels - Belgium. I have more than 20 years of experience with Malamute's as an owner and breeder. I was the President of the Alaskan Malamute Club of Belgium for more than 10 years, where I did my utmost for this lovely breed. I retired from this function in March 2008, but I'm still actively present on every event.

I purchased my first Malamute "Taïga" (Cold Valley's Ioghi Myjoy) in 1984. I went to shows with her and she ran in a sleddog team of a friend. Taïga had four litters in total. The first one was with Kiss me Again Del Lago degli Orsi. Out of this combination, I kept a female, Kara of Keema's Wolf Pak. Two years later, Mackenzie, out of Kara and Cold Valley's Gengis Khan, stayed with me. Kara had only one litter. The puppy's were beautiful, but not completely of the type I had in mind. Mackenzie gave birth to 3 litters. The first one was with CH. Storm Kloud's Ccyrus Rex Valley, which was an outcross. For the other two litters I used Okkomut CV Kotzebue Wolfface.

My dog's live inside the house and have a large garden at their disposal. We attend dogshows and I also let them take part at short distance sled dog races. With short distance I mean maximum 15 km, which is enough for a team of 4 dogs.

I try to breed according the Malamute standard and my goal is to achieve healthy and stable Malamutes, who have a good character and can be used as a pet dog, showdog and workdog. My dogs and the dogs I use for breeding are tested on their eyes (cataract/PRA) and on hip dysplasia (HD).

Since a few years I'm working together with my friend, Heidi Zöszmaier, who practises the sport with my and her dogs. When puppies are born we're assisting the mother together. We attend dogshows and all the clubevents together. Seen my age, I'm glad that she assists me in al these tasks and that she feels involved in continuing my kennel and breeding of nice, healthy and very well socialized dogs.
End March 2008 she became the President of the Alaskan Malamute Club of Belgium.
